How do I beat final fantasy IX boss in gizamaluke grotto?

I really recommend you level up your characters to level 15 or higher for that boss. He hits hard and has a lot of hp. I struggled with that boss too. It's been about 7 years since I last played FFIX but I do remember that I finally gave up on him and just leveled up my party to 15+ and then he was really easy. :)
