I Cant remember the name of this movie?

I remember that in this movie there were like this ogres that came to a village every once in a while and collect food from them and the mother and father couldn't keep their 3 kids so the dad took them to the forest and the kids left a trail of rocks and they followed the trail back then the dad did it again the kids left crumbs of bread but birds ate them and the got lost and ended up at the house of a witch
